today marks the signing ceremony of a strategic cooperation agreement between nine cities from g60 science and technology innovation corridor and the shanghai stock exchange. the signing of this agreement is in accordance with president xi jinping’s speech at the first china international import expo, and his speeches during his visit to shanghai. it is also an active response to shanghai’s three new major tasks proposed by president xi jinping, namely, make the best use of the great integration opportunity of the yangtze river delta, and make it our national strategy, dock the sci-tech innovation board and pilot registration system reform, and strengthen g60 science and technology innovation corridor’s innovation ability.
participants in today’s signing ceremony include leaders from shanghai municipal party committee and shanghai municipality, main leaders from shanghai stock exchange, leaders of shanghai’s local financial supervisory authorities, main leaders from nine municipalities along g60 science and technology innovation corridor, the office of cooperation in the yangtze river delta, the office of g60 science and technology innovation corridor joint conference, representatives of innovative technology firms, and representatives of sponsor institutions. the signing ceremony marks the start of establishing a science and technology board on the shanghai stock exchange, piloting the registration system and implementing the national strategy of integrating the yangtze river delta. it is also a significant step towards multilayer capital market services for real economies along g60 science and technology innovation corridor and towards the better integration of the region. today’s ceremony included the introduction of the stock price index of g60 science and technology corridor, signing of the strategic cooperation agreement between the nine cities along g60 science and technology innovation corridor and shanghai stock exchange, unveiling of the nameplate of the shanghai stock exchange capital market services base for g60 science and technology innovation corridor, introduction of the status quo of technological innovation along g60 science and technology innovation corridor, establishment of the science and innovation board, and illustration of the business rules related to the registration system.
g60 science and technology innovation corridor is spread along two directions—shanghai, jiaxing and hangzhou, and shanghai, suzhou, huzhou, xuancheng and wuhu. the corridor is spread across 76,200 square kilometers and includes songjiang in shanghai, jiaxing, hangzhou, jinhua, suzhou, huzhou, xuancheng, wuhu and hefei. it is home to around 49 million permanent residents and has an annual gdp of rmb4.86 trillion. this area is the most dynamic part of china’s economy.
